A diferencia de la mayoría de los contenidos promocionales de realidad virtual que se presentan junto con las películas y series televisivas, los cortos de realidad virtual de “Suicide Squad” y “Mr. Robot” incluyen al elenco y personal de sus contrapartes.
En el caso de “Mr. Robot”, la experiencia original de realidad virtual de 12 minutos fue dirigida por el creador de la serie, Sam Esmail, y Rami Malek interpreta al protagonista de “Mr. Robot”, Elliot Alderson, en su paso por una emocional retrospectiva causada por la marihuana.
El breve filme en realidad virtual se estrenó el jueves durante un evento en Petco Park antes de que se abrieran las puertas en un lugar a pocas cuadras de distancia en el que se representaba una recreación del apartamento de Alderson en la serie. En su interior, los seguidores pudieron vivir la experiencia y recibir una camiseta gratuita.
Para las personas que no asistieron a la convención, el filme de realidad virtual de “Mr. Robot” apareció de manera simultánea en la app Within VR, antes de que se le cancelara la transmisión. Estará disponible nuevamente la próxima semana en todas las plataformas principales de realidad virtual.
A unas cuadras de distancia, la adictiva experiencia en realidad virtual de “Suicide Squad” fue demostrada en una instalación diseñada para semejar a la ficticia penitenciaría Belle Reve. Representa una escena de la película en la que miembros del elenco, incluyendo a Will Smith, Jai Courtney y Margot Robbie combaten a un pelotón de soldados en 360 grados.
El breve filme, que también muestra la escena desde el punto de vista de Harley Quinn, interpretada por Robbie, será presentado el 5 de agosto junto con la película en la plataforma de realidad virtual de Samsung.
