It also offers additional context by summarizing ideas in the Voices article and presenting different views on the topic from a variety of sources.

Does Insights involve the newsroom?

Insights operates independently of the Los Angeles Times newsroom. The AI content is not reviewed by journalists before it is published.

However, we will incorporate reader feedback to produce better, more accurate results over time.

Are news articles subject to Insights?

No, Insights are not applied to news reporting. Only content that takes a point of view on a political issue is eligible for Insights analysis.

What does Insights analyze?

Insights is used to analyze the text of a Voices article that is political in nature and offers a point of view. It does not analyze a writer’s entire body of work.

What is Viewpoint analysis?
