‘Laramie Project’ comes to Laguna
The Laguna Beach Playhouse will present “The Laramie Project” from
Sept. 13 to Oct. 12.
The production was created by Moises Kaufman and the Tectonic
Theatre Project. The drama explores the people of Laramie, Wyo., and

of a gay student, Matthew Shepard.
The show will be directed by Nick DeGruccio, whose production of
this play last year at Burbank’s Colony Theatre won 2002 Ovation
Awards for Best Play, Best Direction and Best Ensemble in Los
Angeles. Last November, DeGruccio directed the West Coast Premiere of
the Spitfire Grill at the Laguna Playhouse.
Previews are at 8 p.m. Sept. 9 through 11; 2 p.m. Sept. 11 and
cost $29; the 8 p.m. Sept. 12 preview is $33.
The opening night gala is 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 for $95. Regular
performances are 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for $45; 2
p.m. Saturdays and Sundays for $45; 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays for
$52; and 7 p.m. Sundays for $45. There will be no Sunday evening
