The Griffins earned a 2-0 win at Newport Harbor High on Tuesday night, despite plenty of chances for the host Sailors in the second half.

Rylee Bradley scored 23 points to lead the Vikings past Fountain Valley 54-43 on Monday in a Sunset League game. Bradley was honored as the program’s all-time leading scorer before the contest.

The Sailors earn a 2-0 win over the visiting Sea Kings on Friday to remain in contention for a playoff spot out of the Sunset League.

The Sailors beat Oaks Christian for third place, while Laguna Beach took sixth. Elsewhere, CdM finished as runner-up in the Irvine Southern California Championships.

Nayan Martlin scored twice for Laguna Beach in a 3-0 win over visiting Sage Hill on Tuesday. The Breakers are in second place, behind University, in the Pacific Coast League.

Fountain Valley senior Khale McDonnell won the 215-pound title in the Five Counties tournament on Saturday in the Barons’ host event.

Jack Nicklaus, who won a record 18 major championships in his career, will speak at the Hoag Classic Hall of Fame Community Breakfast on March 18.

The junior guard scored 27 points Wednesday night, lifting the Sea Kings to a 60-51 win at rival Newport Harbor.

Sophomore Madison Mack scored in the second overtime period to lift the Sailors on Tuesday night.

Sadie Hoch, Ella Knox and Maddie Michel all scored for the Sailors in Tuesday night’s Battle of the Bay victory.

Mitch Olson, who was previously head coach at Kennedy and Loara, will guide the Barons beginning in 2025.

The Sailors bounced back to beat San Marcos in the third-place match after falling to Orange Lutheran in the semifinals. Laguna Beach topped CdM for ninth place.
