TUESDAY
* Temple Hills Drive: A teenage resident reported that a young man
knocked on her door and asked if she wanted to buy any security
systems, then asked if her parents were home and whether she smoked
pot in the 600 block at 4:02 p.m. Police searched the area but
couldn’t find the suspect.
MONDAY
* Mar Vista Road: A resident reported that her son was threatening
her in the 31000 block at 11:39 a.m. Police responded and arrested
the man on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug
paraphernalia.
* Ocean Avenue: A pedestrian reported that a man with crutches was
sitting in a parking lot in the 200 block trying to trip people as
they passed at 9:22 a.m. An officer advised the man to stop at 9:37
a.m., and he complied.
SUNDAY
* Alta Laguna Park: A resident found a can of lighter fluid, paper
and cloth next to a park bench at 9:43 a.m. that someone apparently
tried to set fire to, but failed. The bench was charred, but
evidently didn’t ignite. Police took fingerprints of the items left
behind and are looking for suspects.
SATURDAY
* Moss Street Beach: A woman walking down the steps to the beach
said a man in his 30s grabbed her arm and said “Hey” while he
masturbated at 1:58 p.m. She said she didn’t want to file a report if
the police and lifeguards couldn’t find him. No crime report was
filed.
