Vanguard takes down The Master’s

COSTA MESA -- Horace Wormely had 21 points, seven assists and six rebounds as Vanguard University rallied for a 77-70 win over The Master’s College in a Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Saturday night.

The Lions (8-7, 2-3 in conference) trailed by 10 points before rallying early in the second half. Levi Seekins’ jumper with 4:14 remaining in the second half put Vanguard up for good.

Wormely made 7 of 10 shots from the field, including 3 of his 6 three-point tries. Seekins connected on eight of his 16 shots to finish with 17 points.

The Lions shot 50% from the field (30 of 60) and committed just four turnovers to the Mustangs’ 10.

Ryan Read led The Master’s (6-7, 1-3) with 27 points.
