GIRLS’ SOCCER
Estancia 3, Calvary Chapel 2
SANTA ANA — Senior forward Jennifer Thomas scored two goals and added an assist to lead Estancia to its first Orange Coast League victory Tuesday at Centennial Park.
Senior midfielder Stacy McDaniels assisted on both the goals from Thomas to give Estancia (8-6-2, 1-0-1 in league) a 2-0 lead midway through the first half. But Calvary Chapel scored twice to tie it up before the half.
Sophomore Nushin Tasbichi scored the game-winner on an assist from Thomas. Sophomore goalkeeper Allyson Wallace recorded two saves for Estancia, which plays host to Laguna Beach Thursday at 3 p.m.
Irvine 3, Corona del Mar 0
IRVINE — The Sea Kings had three injured players before the Pacific Coast League game and three more during play Tuesday at Irvine High.
Irvine scored twice in the first half and then again late in the second half to drop CdM to 8-6-3, 1-2-0 in league.
CdM Coach Bryan Middleton said the Sea Kings earned plenty of scoring chances in the second half, but couldn’t finish. He said freshman defender Scarlett Fallon, as well as forwards Tessa Andujar and Lexi Hensen played well for the Sea Kings, who play against University at Las Lomas Community Park in Irvine Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

DOWNEY — Sophomore Kayci Decker scored four goals for the Mustangs in their nonleague game at Downey Tuesday.
Senior Talhia Nuñez added three goals, while sophomore goalie Danielle Bowen had five saves, two steals and an assist for Costa Mesa (9-15), which returns to action Jan. 24 at Tustin.

NEWPORT BEACH — Junior 125-pounder Eddie Garcia and senior 171-pounder Edgar Guadarrama collected victories by a one-point margin for the Sailors in their nonleague dual Tuesday at Newport Harbor.
Senior Josh George, who usually wrestles at the 140-pound division, won by forfeit at 145s to improve his overall record to 27-0. George is preparing for the Five Counties Invitational, which starts Friday, and plans to make weight for 140 at that time.
Senior 152-pounder Josh Lithgow recorded a pin in one minute, 34 seconds for the Sailors (10-4).

IRVINE — Seniors Cole Shepard (125 pounds), Kevin Lineback (heavyweight) and Andrew Halladay (171s) all had pins for CdM in the Pacific Coast League dual meet Tuesday at Irvine High.
Senior Travis Prickett won at 189s for the Sea Kings (7-14, 1-2 in league). Coach Gary Almquist said he was also impressed with the effort from senior Max Prescott, who lost, 5-2, at 215 pounds to a returning CIF placer from the Vaqueros (2-0 in league).

The Sailors (6-1) won seven of the eight heats and all four events in a nonleague event at 56th Street in Newport Beach Tuesday.
The boys’ short board squad won, 54-30, while sweeping all four first-place positions. Three of the four heats saw the Sailors finish first, second and third. The first-place finishers were Erik Heimstaedt, Victor Done, Tyler Tarlow and Bobby Okvist.
Done’s 5.6 average wave score was tops for the contest. Finishing second were Canon Call, Jared Cassidy and Graeme Chesnie. Placing third were Chase Wilson, Alex Maddox and Coby Peterson.
The boys’ long board squad won, 11-10, with Michael Maddox and Aaron Cervantes finishing second and third. The body board squad won, 11-10, as Spencer Ruzicka and Yuji Kanbayashi placed second and third.
The girls’ short board squad won, 15-6, and improved to 7-0. Finishing in first place for the sixth time this year was Kaleigh Gilchrist (4.6 score). Elizabeth Eddy and Camille Collett took second and third.
The girls’ long board squad won, 13-8, and was led by Collett’s first-place finish in her long board debut. Placing third was Hannah Patrick.
