Sexy stylings from Stella

English fashion designer Stella McCartney — daughter of ex-Beatle Paul and his late wife, photographer Linda Eastman — was the guest of honor at a cocktail party from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesday hosted by Neiman Marcus Fashion Island, 601 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach.

McCartney was in town promoting her fall and pre-fall collection of ready-to-wear shoes, handbags, accessories and lingerie.

Her signature style, apparent in her first collection, is one of “sharp tailoring, natural confidence and sexy femininity,” according to her website.

McCartney, a vegetarian all her life, doesn’t use leather or fur in any of her designs. In addition to clothing, her collection also includes eyewear, fragrance and skin care products.

Wednesday’s party, an invitation-only event for Neiman Marcus customers, featured music and informal modeling of McCartney’s new pieces.

A Stella McCartney representative will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today to preview the line at a trunk show in Designer Sportswear on Level 2.
