Police arrest suspect who wore pantyhose on head

Nothing says subtle like pantyhose on the head.
In a daring morning bank robbery, authorities say, Bradley O’Loughlin, 50, of Arroyo Grande walked into a Newport Beach bank with a not-so-clever disguise and carrying a black duffel bag.
Perhaps alerted by the smushed-face appearance of a bank customer with pantyhose over the face, police say a witness called them to report a robbery had just occurred at Bank of America, 1016 Irvine Ave.
O’Loughlin approached a bank teller and demanded money while telling them he was carrying explosives, said Sgt. Evan Sailor. The witness who called police was able to capture a part of the robber’s license plate as he drove off, which led to O’Loughlin’s arrest.
An officer saw a 2009 silver Cadillac with a similar license plate getting onto the southbound 405 Freeway from the 55 freeway and pulled it over. The officer arrested O’Loughlin and found pantyhose and the duffel bag stuffed with money inside the car, Sailor said. No explosives were found, officials said.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call police at (800) 550-NBPD.
